This companion lesson to the story “The Rabbit Listened” by Cori Doerrfeld teaches students about the role of the school social worker. Just like the rabbit who helped Taylor in the story, school counselors listen, love, help, support, care about our feelings, and stay by our side. Kids LOVE and really relate to this story as it helps explain the role of the social worker on their level.
